Cécile Brossard

Following her studies at the Paris Conservatoire national supérieur de Musique in the classes of Bruno Pasquier and Pierre Laurent Aimard, Cécile Brossard is awarded first prize in viola, chamber music and improvisation. She then pursues her musical education with Serge Collot. An established orchestra player formed under the direction of Pierre Boulez, Ivan Ficher, Seiji Ozawa, with the Gustav Mahler Orchestra, at the Pacific Music Festival, the Académie d'Aix-en-Provence or the Tanglewood Music Festival, Cécile Brossard is a member of the Orchestre de la Garde Républicaine and plays regualrly with Les Siècles (François-Xavier Roth), Le Cercle de l'Harmonie (Jérémie Rhorer), Les Talens Lyriques (Christophe Rousset), the Philharmonia Orchestra of London and the Orchestre National de France. A member of the Benaim Quartet from 2002 to 2005, she has the benefit of the teachings of Walter Levin (Hochschule für Musik in Basel), Gunther Pichler, Paul Katz (New England Conservatory) and wins, in 2004, the third prize of the ARD International Competition in Munich. Since 2007, Cécile Brossard plays alongside Julien Chauvin, Karine Croquenoy and Atsushi Sakaï in the Cambini Quartet. Violist of the contemporary music ensemble Cairn since 2001, she is also invited to play with the Ensemble Multilatérale and the Ensemble Contrechamps.
